Our Story
Originally opened in 1969 by Linda Shelhart, Canterbury Stables has seen several generations of horse riders and enthusiasts. Once nestled upon a quiet, pastoral, setting off of Wrightsville Avenue, this little 12-acre piece of heaven has seen many changes over its 57 years.
Our beautiful farm setting provides the perfect backdrop for weddings, galas, and private events, just minutes away from top-rated hotels, award-winning Wrightsville Beach, and Historic Downtown Wilmington.
The Venue
Our event venue features a spacious 2,400 square-foot indoor space with a covered patio, ideal for both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations. Couples can choose from two charming wedding ceremony locations, each surrounded by natural beauty and peaceful views.
